Veterans Helping Veterans

The Veterans Helping Veterans is a program that assists Veterans, Gold Star Moms, widows, and other members of our community when in need of essential services. With support from Home Depot and our volunteers, we are able to assist with home repairs and other kinds of manual labor as well as care packages with essential supplies for deployed service members.

Serving Those Who Served

Master Sergeant Vincent Farrell

Warrior Outreach volunteers, friends, and partners show off their work for Korean war hero Master Sergeant (Retired) Vincent Farrell during a ceremony celebrating the completion of home repairs July 31, 2013. The 316th CAV BDE from Fort Benning provided the muscle for the project; doing yard work, painting, cutting down trees and even repairing a basketball goal for MSG Farrell’s great-grandchildren. Home Depot provided paint, lumber, flowers, electrical work and fixtures, and cleaning supplies and also rolled their sleeves up and pitched in. Zaxby’s provided free food for everyone. MSG Farrell was awarded the Silver Star and Bronze Star with the “V” Device for valor for his heroic actions during the Korean War. UPDATE — Vincent Farrell died on Jan. 6, 2014. He was inducted into the Georgia Military Veterans Hall of Fame on November 1, 2014.
